Deegan Groundwater has considerable expertise in developing groundwater resources in PNG, Australia, and Kiribati.  The scope of work usually includes:

• Review of geological mapping and hydrogeological data to focus on likely groundwater sources;
• Geophysical (resistivity) surveying and test drilling to confirm resources;
• Lithological and geophysical logging of boreholes;
• Efficient production bore design;
• Drilling supervision and contract management;
• Hydraulic testing (test pumping) to confirm aquifer hydraulic parameters, bore yield and sustainability;
• Water quality assessment for potability and suitability as a town water supply; and
• Advice on bore rehabilitation, iron bacteria issues in bores and appropriate maintenance programs.

Deegan Groundwater has extensive experience in  groundwater supply investigations in PNG over the past 27 years:

• Review of relevant hydrogeological information including: geological mapping, hydrogeological data from Government databases and review of previous investigations;
• Geophysical (Resistivity and TEM) surveying to identify aquifer depth and test drilling targets;
• Site reconnaissance visit to identify potential drilling locations and inspections of existing bores; and
• Assessment of groundwater quality and bore yields.

Deegan Groundwater has over 28 years extensive experience in providing: 

• Practical advice on evaluating drilling tenders to identify the most capable drilling contractor for the project;
• Drilling contractor management including daily reports on progress;
• Drilling supervision and lithological logging;
• Borehole geophysical logging and interpretation for production bore design;
• Design and supervision of test pumping; and
• Preparation of bore completion reports suitable for submission to Water PNG.

Deegan Groundwater has extensive experience in dewatering investigations in NSW, VIC, WA, and QLD:

• Dewatering scenarios for mines, basements, and civil infrastructure including tunnels;
• Processing of monitoring data from data loggers;
• Drilling and installation of monitoring bores;
• Development of conceptual hydrogeological models;
• Design and assessment of dewatering systems; and
• Assessment of inflows to mines, tunnels and basement excavations.

Monitoring bores allow the information on groundwater levels and quality to be measured. Monitoring networks are designed to establish baseline conditions and to record long-term changes over time.  Deegan groundwater have the capability to:

• Design and install suitable groundwater monitoring networks;
• Installation and analysis of data logger records
• Short and long-term monitoring of water quality parameters;
• Sampling of groundwater for detailed chemical and biological analysis
• Analysis, interpretation and preparation of groundwater monitoring reports; and
• Groundwater Management Plans for extraction from a bore field, and for mine or basement dewatering operations.
